Dr. Todd Baker
Veterinarian, Owner
Todd went to school at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he went to Florida to complete an equine internship before joining Fort Macleod vet clinic. Dr. Baker’s passions at work include equine medicine and orthopedic surgery, including TPLO surgery.

Dr. Kala Van Buuren
Veterinarian
Kala grew up on a farm near Lethbridge. After completing her undergraduate at the University of Alberta she attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. Kala then completed a year long equine internship with the specialists at Moore Equine before joining Fort Macleod Veterinary Clinic in 2018. Kala’s passions are equine medicine and small animal surgery. When she isn’t working, Kala can be found spending time with her family, playing or coaching volleyball, or with her horses.

Dr. Colby Morris
Veterinarian
Colby started his education off with an undergrad at U of L in Lethbridge in 2015. After he completed his undergraduate he moved to Calgary to graduate from vet school at UCVM in 2021. Colby first joined the clinic as a student in his fourth year of school, after finishing his studies Colby came back to join us at the clinic and has been here since. Colby’s favourite part of the job is working with cattle, and with a great team to provide small animal surgery and medicine. Colby’s hobbies include outdoor activities, hockey, and travelling.

Dr. Jena Thue
Veterinarian
Jena is originally from Radville Sask, where she grew up on a cattle ranch. Growing up, she roped and rodeoed with her family. She attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and joined the team after graduation in 2021. Jena’s veterinary interests include all things equine, cow/calf, ultrasounds, and offering veterinary service for the weird and wonderful (exotics). When Jena isn’t at work, you can find her on a horse, with her nose in a novel or taking her pups out for an adventure in the mountains.

Dr. Emmalyn Elgersma
Veterinarian
Emmalyn went to school at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, graduated in 2023, and joined the Fort Macleod Vet team shortly after. Emmalyn loves the variety that rural veterinary medicine offers and particularly enjoys working with cattle and dogs. In her spare time, you can find her outside – hiking, skiing, or spending time with her dog and horse.

Dr. Allison Kwantes
Veterinarian
Allison graduated from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2024 and has enjoyed working in practice since then. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, backpacking and paddle boarding. Her favourite part of the job is working with a wide variety of species – most notably chickens (one of her favourites).

Jaime Gray

Jaime is our head veterinary technician at the clinic. Shortly after graduating from Fairview College she joined the clinic and has been with us since. Jaime’s favourite part of her job is helping all animals big or small. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, kayaking, and the Christmas season!

Moriah Van Driesten
Registered Veterinary Technician
Moriah started at the clinic in 2015 after graduating high school and spent her summers working at the clinic. She graduated from Olds College in 2017 from the Animal Health Technology program and has been at the Veterinary clinic since. She loves the unique surgeries she gets to help with and the variety of species she gets to see each day. She has one horse, a spicy cat and a few lambs she bottle fed with her girls. In her free time she likes to be outdoors with her two girls, spend rainy days baking or take her horse out for a ride.

Karmyn Malmberg
Registered Veterinary Technician
Karmyn graduated from the NAIT Animal Health Technology program in 2005. She is married to her best friend Roger and between the two of them they have 6 teenagers. Animals have always been an important part of her life, and she currently has 2 dogs and 2 cats. Karmyn’s favourite part of her job is small animal surgery, especially orthopedics. Horses have always been a passion for her as well, so anything to do with them makes her happy.

Madisen Groves
Registered Veterinary Technician
Madisen graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in 2021. When she’s not spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys riding her horse, hiking with her dog, and doing mini photoshoots with her cat. Her favourite part of the job is the endless opportunities to learn and try something new everyday.

Sheila Lenz
Registered Veterinary Technician
Sheila started at the clinic as a receptionist after completing her veterinary medical receptionist training (VMR) in 2019. She then continued with her schooling and graduated from Thompson River University from the vet tech program in the winter of 2023. Sheila’s favourite part of her job is the variety of species she sees and the different skills she gets to use within the day. She has two cattle dogs and three cats. All three cats were strays that got brought into the clinic and she couldn’t resist adopting them. In her free time you’ll find her outside with her dogs or spending quality time with her family.

Kim McAdoo
Registered Veterinary Technician
Kim graduated from Olds College in 2014 and has gained experience from multiple clinics before landing in Fort Macleod in spring of 2023. She grew up in Calgary but don’t let that fool you when she steps on your farm – her passion is working with cattle and horses. She was certified for pregnancy diagnosis of beef cattle in the fall of 2023. Kim enjoys spending time outdoors – exploring new places, hiking and fly fishing. She also does competitive agility with her cattle dog Spud.

Ellian Ferguson
Registered Veterinary Technician
Ellian graduated from Old College 2022 and has been working at Fort Macleod Vet ever since. She enjoys the variety that a mixed practice clinic provides since every day is different from the last. In her free time, she enjoys riding her horse in the coulees and relaxing at home with her cat.

Danielle Hann
Registered Veterinary Technician
Danielle graduated from the Lakeland College Animal Health Technology program in June of 2024. She has a corgi named Goose and barrel races in her free time. Her favourite part of the job is almost anything to do with horses!

Mackenzie Turner
Registered Veterinary Technician
Mackenzie finished her first year of the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College and starts her second year in October of 2024. She has a one year old golden retriever named Kipper and her favourite part about her job is building relationships with all the 4 (sometimes 3) legged patients. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her dog, family and friends.

Brynn first started working in the Veterinary field in 2015 and went to Olds College for AHT, VMR and TA. Travelling and taking her motorbike on trips are her passions. Brynn’s favourite part of the job is working with all species, large/farm animals, exotics and wildlife.

Raised in rural Fort Macleod, Danin graduated from the U of L with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2019. She uses her talents at the Feed Wagon, painting life-sized animals around the store! Danin and her husband Paul love their acreage life, and own 5 cats, 3 milking toggenburg goats, chickens, ducks, and a Llama
